    Brand Verification

Brand verification is the carrier and platform approval process that confirms a business's identity, registers its brand assets, and authorizes it to send messages under a verified name and logo.

    The process behind the badge

Brand verification is the registration workflow that produces a verified sender. It is a one-time setup per brand (with periodic re-attestations) that establishes the legal entity, confirms control of the brand assets, and unlocks higher-trust messaging across SMS, RCS, and other channels.

    What brands submit

A typical brand verification packet includes:

    • Legal company name and registration number
    • DBA or operating name shown to consumers
    • Logo in approved formats and resolutions
    • Brand color (usually as hex)
    • Hero banner image for the agent profile
    • Business description, vertical, and use case
    • Customer support contact (phone, email, web)
    • Privacy policy and terms of service URLs
    • Sample messages and conversation flows
    • Opt-in language and consent collection method

    Who reviews it

For RBM on Android, the approval chain is the platform partner, then Google, then the carriers (some carriers re-review, some accept Google's approval). For 10DLC SMS in the U.S., it is The Campaign Registry plus the mobile network operators. For Apple Messages for Business, Apple itself.

A good platform partner handles the asset prep, submission, and back-and-forth with each reviewer, so the brand sees a simple intake form rather than three separate regulatory portals.

What you get when you are verified

    • The verified checkmark and brand logo on every message
    • Rich content support (RCS rich cards, carousels, suggested actions)
    • Higher throughput limits
    • Lower spam-block rates
    • Eligibility for premium message types like OTP delivery and conversational AI

    Maintaining verification

Brand verification is not a one-and-done. If the brand changes its logo, contact info, privacy policy, or use case, the registration needs to be updated. Carriers and platforms occasionally re-attest, and the brand needs to respond. A platform partner usually monitors and handles this.

    Frequently asked questions

Is brand verification the same across SMS and RCS?
No. SMS uses 10DLC registration through The Campaign Registry. RCS uses RBM through Google. iPhone uses Apple Business Connect. The information overlaps but each channel runs its own approval.
What if my brand verification gets rejected?
Rejections are usually fixable. Common reasons are missing privacy policy, unclear use case, or sample messages that look like they could violate spam rules. A platform partner will iterate with you until approval.
Do I need to verify every campaign separately?
Brand verification covers the brand. Some channels also require campaign-level registration on top, especially 10DLC. Both are typically handled in the same intake.
